Celebrate Halloween at the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Zoo!

trick-or-treating at the Detroit Zoo and the Belle Isle Zoo. Zoo Boo kicks
off eight wild nights of fun on Friday, October 19. The exciting Halloween
event runs October 19-21, October 26-28 and October 30-31 beginning at 6 p.m.
Zoorama Safari begins at the Belle Isle Zoo on October 17 and runs daily
through October 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
As the Detroit Zoo's annual Halloween event, Zoo Boo offers children a
safe and "merry-not-scary" environment to celebrate Halloween. The event,
presented by Farmer Jack, features a festively decorated trick-or-treat trail
with 10 tons of pumpkins and costumed greeters passing out treats. Cider and
donuts will be available for purchase. Zoo Boo is also pleased to present
"Zoo Boo Revue" (a mini-musical sponsored by T.J. Maxx) as part of the
Zoo Boo is a family event that has sold out every night for several years.
Last year 27,000 guests attended the event and an expected 30,000 will attend
Tickets are $4 per person two years old and older. Tickets go on sale
exclusively through Ticketmaster beginning October 1. Tickets available at
all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers including Marshall Fields and Harmony House.

Zoorama Safari is the Belle Isle Zoo's annual Halloween event, which
provides visitors with a recreational and educational experience. Costumed
volunteers passing out treats greet visitors along the elevated boardwalk that
gives them a panoramic view of the animals. There will also be puppet shows,
entertainment and story telling along the trail. Local agencies such as the
DEA and the Coast Guard will be on hand to inform guests about current issues
and career opportunities. Zoorama Safari is included in the admission to the
Belle Isle Zoo. Admission is $4 per person two years old and older.
The Detroit Zoological Institute, founded in 1928, is committed to
celebrating and saving wildlife. Situated on 125 acres of naturalistic
exhibits, the Detroit Zoo is open year round with several indoor viewing
areas. The Zoo is located at the intersection of Ten Mile Road and Woodward
Avenue, just off of I-696 in Royal Oak. The Belle Isle Zoo is located just
two miles east of downtown Detroit. Entrance to the island is on East
