Ohio State Park Lodges like smart kids. And their parents like great value. And that’s part of the reason Ohio State Park Lodges are filled with happy, active families during spring break weeks.
The Ohio State Park Lodges’ “Stays 4 A’s” program allows students with A’s – or the reporting equivalent of an A – on their report cards to transform each of those A’s into $10 discounts off the price of a lodge room at up to $50 off per room per night at Salt Fork State Park Lodge in central Ohio near Cambridge, Mohican State Park Lodge in north central Ohio near Loudonville, Punderson Manor State Park Lodge in northeastern Ohio near Newbury, Maumee Bay State Park Lodge in northwestern Ohio near Toledo and Deer Creek State Park Lodge near Columbus.
Each A is worth a discount of $10 off the published rate per room per night up to five A’s or $50. Families need only show their star students’ report cards at check-in to earn the discount. One report card per room may be applied for the discount, and families must present the original report card upon check-in. Blackout periods for the Stays 4 A’s program apply, and the offer is based on availability. Travelers should use the promotional code STAY4A.
“The “Stays 4 A’s” program offers kids an appealing incentive for buckling down at school now – a spring getaway,” said Dianna Rom, regional director of sales and marketing for Xanterra Parks & Resorts, operator of the lodges. “The lodges offer plenty of indoor and outdoor fun, so even if Mother Nature hasn’t gotten the spring-season memo, a spring break getaway can be filled with great family experiences and memories.”
The lodges are situated in some of the state’s most picturesque and accessible locations, and all feature a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational offerings, making them perfect getaway destinations. All of the lodges have an indoor pool, exercise room and dining room. Most feature old-fashioned arcade-style game rooms, outdoor playgrounds and bonfire rings. And each lodge and state park is a little different. Maumee Bay State Park in northwest Ohio on Lake Erie, for example, features a Nature Trail, complete with a kid-pleasing bird blind. And there if there is still snow on the ground, families will find a terrific sledding hill near Punderson Manor State Park Lodge.
The lodges offer a wide range of room choices to accommodate all kinds of groups including cottages – some pet friendly – with kitchens, living areas and bedrooms with a variety of sleeping configurations, as well as guest rooms with lofts, bunks and king and queen beds. For example, Maumee Bay State Park Lodge features eight four-bedroom cottages that can accommodate up to 11 guests. And Mohican State Park Lodge features a limited number of pet-friendly rooms.
The lodges also offer a line-up of value-added packages too. For example, all five Ohio State Park Lodges offer a pizza package with accommodations and large pizza with two toppings and four sodas. For example, the one-night Pizza Package at Deer Creek State Park Lodge near Columbus starts at $101.99 per night for a standard double room Pizza Packages at any Ohio State Park Lodge can be booked online at www.ohiostateparklodges.com or by calling 1-800-282-7275 and using the promotional code PIZZA.
